About

My name is Lori. By day, I am a freelance writer working with a variety of publications and businesses. If you’re in need of a professional wordsmith, I’d be happy to chat.  You can learn more about my background, skills and experience here. I am also lady-in-waiting to two great dogs: Lola & Beau, also known as Donna & Diablo. This is their story—and mine.

  11. Hi, thanks for your comment on my recent post ‘New family Order’.
Thanks for your encouragement, I really appreciate it.

I am not sure whether this comment will also come through on your feeder. However, your comment came through without a link to your site so i was not sure whether my reply would link back to you. I thought I would drop by and give an extra thank-you to make sure you received it.

    🙂

    • Hi Elizabeth, So good to hear from you! I know you’re going through a really tough stretch right now, but it’s clear that you’ve got a wonderful relationship with your kids (scattered though they may be) and the wonders of modern technology really *do* make it much easier to stay in touch. I feel certain that you are on the verge of a really *wonderful* chapter in your life, one that’s all about YOU. I know it’s probably difficult to see that now, but I really do think it’s true. So hang in there, my friend, and keep putting one foot in front of the other. You’re gonna surprise yourself with your own inner strength and resilience, I just know it!! 🙂

    Lori,

My dog, Sammie, is the Zen-est creature I know. Be like Sammie, I tell myself again and again.

There’s a joy and style in your writing that draws me in. So glad we connected.

    Tom

    • Hello Tom! Thx for stopping by my blog *and* for following! I so appreciate it. As for Sammie, I’ll bet he is a joy. What kind of dog is he? My dogs, too, keep me centered. When I was going through my divorce, Lola was a constant reminder that I was loved and that there was promise in every new day–“You’ve got fresh water, something to eat and a roof over your head, girl, all will be well!” she seemed to be saying. “We’ll get through this together!” And we did. I’m delighted we connected, too, and I look forward to your dispatches! 🙂

        Lori,

Sammie is a mini-goldendoodle and very cool. She runs like the wind and has a sweet personality. She and Lola sound like kindred souls.

I’m looking forward to following your journey.

Thanks for your support also for my writing.

        Tom

      • Sammie sounds adorable, and indeed a kindred spirit to the Bug. 🙂 These creatures are such a joy…

  13. Christine says:

Donna! I have a black and tan cavalier! Margot. She is one of the loves of my life…

    • A fellow Cav lover!! Woo hoo! Aren’t they *the best* dogs ever? I love Lola Bug to death–the sweetest, easiest, most lovable dog I’ve ever owned. She’s actually Donna, as in Primadonna 😉 I’m Lori, the human she owns. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog *and* for following me. I look forward to our conversations!

      • Christine says:

They are terrific dogs. You can see Margot on my post “on death and life and planning ahead.” She is peeking out from our fence. Also Esti, our dear Ruby cavalier who passed away in October. Love my girls!

  14. Indira says:
